Our Approach

We believe that a collaborative “engagement” experience is preferable to a more hostile “activist” experience in that collaboration may achieve the desired improvement in a shorter amount of time and is less costly; however, it is anticipated that some underperforming companies that are part of the E&A portfolio will not respond to our attempts to engage in a collaborative manner. As such, we are prepared to leverage various tools and strategies typical of activism, including preparing pitch decks to be released to investors generally, press releases, media appearances, roadshows, proxy solicitors, and litigators that are experts in the niche of activism. Our co-founder James Abbott has significant experience with shareholder activism, as he successfully defended Zions Bank (NASDAQ: ZION) from several proxy contests, worked closely with investors to make the case against activists, and worked with the leading proxy advisors (ISS, Glass Lewis).
